Overclocking my Videocard

Temp. Problems with viceo card.

I have a ASUS Geforce 6600GT.
I have it overclocked a little but not a lot and at max load it can reach 75C.

Is this a dangerous temp?

At stock temps its not much better, maybe 70C at max.

I overclocked mine in steady increments utill I reached a point where the whole screen went blue and then crashed. I suggest you dont mess around with overclocking untill you know what your really doing as you can lose your entire computer due to it..

that also seems very hot...i would invest in some form of cooling...maybe water or fans...something, thats seems very very hot to me

yeah it does seem rather hot, on other forums people have sed that that would b an acceptable temp, but i'd try not to let it get any higher than that!!

I have been to the Nvidia forums and some people get even higher temps then my (like 110C) and it runs fine.

They seem to think the temp readings are wrong. I think so too. Think about it would a video card even RUN at 110C.

well ur default threshold is probably about 120 b4 it starts to slow down/turn off!!!

My max it gets to now is 74C
