strange problem, please help

okay this is really strange, whenever i start up the internet i get everything working fine, then after about 5 minutes half of all websiteds just won't open and after 10 i have absolutely no connection i got to whee my connection is listed and it says i have limited or no connectivity and may not be able to access some resources. i've searched a bunch of forums and got no answers, does anybody have any ideas at all? thanks for any help!

what kind of connection do you have? dial up or broadband? and if you have broadband, are you behind a router?

i have a cable modem using shaw high speed, i'm pretty sure i'm not behind a router.

it might be a problem with your isp, have you contacted them?

i think it was my isp because i'm suddenly up and working again fully so it must of just been there fault. My history file seems to have dissapeared though. do you have any idea how i could get that back?
