total wattage isn't important?????Are u kiddding whoever told you that is insane. You need at least 350 i would say thats the min. wattage u need , 450 is about right, because high end parts need a lot of power

350w might be ok if he's not running high end parts if it is a good brand like antec, thermaltake, etc... but i would suggest like at least 400w because it's always better to be safe than sorry cause a low power supply can really screw you over... any one else would probably agree on that.

ya dude a good psu is like 60 bucks.......just spend the money, it ""protects"" ur computer in a sense, powering the parts at the wattage they need, giving u preformance

they have fanless power supplies, but they are fairly expensive, I don't know what your budget is

but personally I'd go with something like a thermaltake, vantec, aspire, ultra....something like that, those are upper end psu's and should be really quiet. as for the wattage, I'd go at least 400 just to be safe

my psu's a magna 500w...dual fan...the other 6 fans in my case probly drown out the sound of those
