Depends on the socket. What socket do you have? If it is 478 pin or LGA775 then you can put a P4 into it provided the MOBOs frontside bus controller is fast enough to handle the "amazing" 800MHz FSB of the P4.

for some reason whenever i get my computer fixed professionally it runs **AMAZING** but when i fix it myself with my windows cd for some reason it doesnt run as good

LoL. You don't fix things with a Windows cd unless you have a table with a leg shorter than the others.. and use the cd as a wedge

All they do is probably clean out junk such as your temp folders and such so it runs a little smoother.

i mean, format it and reinstall windows, whenever it comes to pros doing it, it runs SO fast!
