ok so took cd drive outa very old computer (says it was manufactured in 1995) and plugged it into my new computer...
switch computer on and it detects ide devices ok... it says so on screen, but it just stays there! bios doesnt continue unless you open the cd drive! doesnt matter if there is a cd in or not! computer doesnt load up until you open the cd drive and shut it again!? i dont know what to do, when windows starts and that it works fine reads cd windows recognises etc. but it pauses on start up
iv tried setting it as master and that,didnt work. iv got it rigged up as it should be, power in, slave jumper set (thats correct) ide cable in ok!
anyone any ideas??
