I have a bellsouth DSL modem box thing that supports IP forwarding
So I set it to forward the IP to my netgear RP114 Websafe Cable/DSL Router.
Then in the router settings, i set it send the http requests to 192.168.0.2 which is my computer

so it should look like this:

[DSL MODEM]->[ROUTER]->(if port 80)->[192.168.0.2(me)]

yet this doesnt work
any suggestions?

If your trying access your externel IP from inside your network most if not all routers will block it! You need to use a proxy service to view your externel IP from the inside! Hope this is some help!

well here is a explanation as I see it hopefully this will shed a bit of light on what you are trying to do if not then atleast I tried. when you are hosting a website behind a firewall then everyone is going to using your routers external address to see the website. what port forwarding does is tell the router that if it receives html requests that it is to forward them to a internal address which is your computer. so I dont know if you are trying to access your internal address on the net or if you knew all this and are trying to access your router with html like what is suppost to be done. so use the proxy idea as a coverall.
