wozelbeak, yes that is how it works. Whatever the program that you are using, it should ask you what drive it is that you would like to format. Even in dos you would specify, format c: Dont think of it as one hard disk, think of it as 2 drives, c: and x: Once you wipe drive c: and start reinstalling your operating system, windows will ask you where you would like to put it and it will show you one formatted empty drive and drive x:. I would suggest, to make it easier, just format while reinstalling the operating system.
