ram upgrade question

i have a really old computer, pentium 2 350 MHZ and im currently using 2 64 md sdram chips, i was looking to buy my friends 2 256 chips of sdram, is there any thing i need to know to make sure it will fit? also im running windows 98, so is it a waste to get more ram? or can windows 98 handle 512 ram and put it to use

I doubt it will...most comps around then wouldn't go above 384(128M chips) You need to check you mobo specs. Win98 can handle that much, but don't be fooled. You won't get a tremendous amout of performace increase...

yeah man u need a new computer desperately then get more ram and you'll be set

yeah i was always thinking about a new one, just gonna wait till i move out tho, and they start putting the 64 bit processsor to use. Im in no real rush anyway, going to school in 2 months so wont have to much time between school and guitar

maybe build my own, always wanted to try that someday
