double your ram and get a high speed harddrive-7200 rpm. the difference will be very noticeable.

i think he will have 7200. Also i dont think the ram will be much noticable. Save up some money and replace the whole base unit.. cpu/memory/ram. You will notice a bit more.

For 200 bucks, you could have a decent computer. A decent asus motherboard can be had for $55 from newegg.com, stick of 512ddr to go with it for another $60. I found a 1.5ghz P4 for 50 bucks with teh fan ans heatsink, unused. Thats $165 for a decent running comp. Just reformat your harddrive and use your old drives and youll be set. Am i missing anything?
