Why get an AMD 2800 thats only 2.08 ghz

Why get an any kind AMD 2800 thats only 2.08 ghz when you can get an intel aroudn the same price thats 2.8 ghz?

cuz ghz mhz dont matter. Intel recently admitted this fact and stopped refering to their CPU's by the ghz. They now use numbers like 514 and such.

Just remember its actual performance not ghz.

yes.

and amd64 2800+ runs at 1.8ghz.
And it keeps up with a P4 2.8 ghz.
a whole 1 ghz difference, but it's nothing.

That's part of it. It aslo matters how each CPU proccesses data. AMD has a far more efficient way of carrying out tasks then Intel does.

ah ok, I was looking to buy a barebone comp with atleast the mobo,cpu, and power source in there, I was going to install the rest.

newegg is excellent, but i denno about barebones. Just start from scratch son son, it ain't that hard.

newegg is good, svcompucyle is good, zipzoomfly. all good.

but i like to go with newegg because of their excellent customer service

yeah, newegg has barebone, but just start from the bottem up the way u like, its fun. and u can get some awsome cases too.

newegg tends to cost a bit more, but their service is awesome.
