i jsut got a brand new BenQ monitor for x-mas but when i plug it in it says "out of range" wth does this mean...i wanan get this thing going and im very excited about it but it keep coming up with that

You are setting the resolution higher then it can handle.

Edit: Sorry for not enough details. Make sure that your settings are set to a resolution it can support. It is possible your previous monitor supported a resolution that was larger then it could. LCD monitors don't have resolution as good as CRTs at this time. 17" LCDs can often only attain 1280X1024 and nothing higher.

Read the edit. Plug in your old monitor and set the resolution to something that will be in the range. I'm pretty sure it is it. If not, I don't know.

yup man seriously that was a huge help..stupid resolution... lol, yup that fixed it..ima watch a movie to admire my new screen
