need help

hi guys. well i need some help. i just bought a laptop from a friend for $100. well anyways the computer boots up but then its says i need a password to log on. i was wondering if i just reebooted the computer using windows xp would i be able to clear up the log on password or will i have to do more. any help will do. thanks.

well can you ask your friend becasue it will make life a lot more easy !!

PUT it in windows safe mode to get in, but if not there are a few ways of getting past the password its something to do with hotreg you have to edit a cammand from your pc, its diffrent letters sorry cant help you out much.
