Hey all...
For Christmas i got a Casio CTK-591 Keyboard (music keyboard, not computer keyboard)... It supports MIDI IN/OUT.. I also have Sound Blaster LIVE! 5.1 and i'm in desperate need of getting the keyboard connected to the computer.. i found a MIDI adaptor on the official site of creative, which goes from MIDI in to MIDI/Game port??? The link for the product is here http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=13&subcategory=55&product=251... Please help me by telling me

1. Is the adaptor available to connect the keyboard to the computer?
2. If not, whats a recommended sound card with MIDI in/out??

Thanks in advance.

MIDI is a connector that is found only on certain MIDI enabled Sound Cards. The LIve 5.1 comes in a MIDI model, but you will want a newer sound card with 24bit audio encoding and decoding, and newer MIDI codecs. I just got an Audigy4 for Chrsitmas, and it has a MIDI connector on it (it ownz!!!). I will provide you with a link to a better sound card that is MIDI enabled... Hope it helps you:

This is the FAMOUS Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS card. These are VERY GOOD Sound Cards!! This one has a completely seperate MIDI/Gameport Control included with it, and its 24bit Encoding and Decoding capabilities will allow for the best recording possible. You won't need to update your sound card for at least 4-6 years.

Ok thankyou a lot. I was thinkin of getting ZS... I'll see if i want just a newer 5.1 or get ZS.. Thanks a lot.

No its the other way around.. I want to play music on the keyboard and save it onto my computer.
