First computer Build need some help!!

Ok heres the deal I will be building my first computer in the next couple of weeks and just needed some opinions. I am going toward a HTPC look and I will be using my HDTV as the monitor it has DVI input. What I want my PC to do is record TV shows you know do all the media things play DVD's, MP3's etc..The OS I will be using will is WMCE 2005. I also like to play alot of games mostly FPS like Halo, COD stuff like that. The budget is 1600$.I need some help though putting it together this is what I came up with so far. Oh and I am open to any suggestions so please let me know what you think and if I can make the system any better. The CPU can be Intel or AMD doesnt matter(comparable).

Ok I am here to help you. Look, $1600 isn't really high enough for a recording computer. You need massive hardrives! I would go AMD64. Hang on, my next post will have links on what to buy. I will not go over that budget. Be back in 15mins.

BTW, that case is completely OVERPRICED. I find you a better one. You DO NOT need a MEDIA CENTER case at all, a normal tower will suffice!

The 9800 Pro is a good card. I will do some research, and try to find a better GPU that will be about $150-$200 more, but much better performance.

Thats a nice GPU but I dont think it has a TV tuner so I dont think it would work for me thanks for the help Zen. I have one last question how do both CPU's compare the AMD 3500+ vs P4 HT 3.4ghz. I gonna order all my stuff tonight so anything you might want to add would be great as far as accessories, tools, stuff like that. Again thanks for the help.
