RAM, 2GB or 1GB?

oops, sorry for that post above, please delete. Anyway, yes, go with 1GB, maybe 1.5 to last you longer in the future but 1gb is fine.

I think if you really have the extra money to buy 2 gigs then I would buy an amd 64 3800 instead or maybe even the 4000. You really don't need 2 gigs, 1 is fine and getting a better cpu would be smarter, especially since it would be s939 which is more future ready.

i find that doubling your ram is more important then gain 10% CPU speed. cut back on the 3700+ and get a 3500+ w/ more ram. i think you will get more bang out of your buck this way

True, but IMO, I think 2 gigs of ram is just overkill if all you are doing is basic home computing and playing games. Plus, upgrading to ram in the future is a lot easier. You just buy a stick of put it in the slot, no big deal. But getting a s754 cpu stops you from upgrading in the future to a s939. If you wanted to, that would mean getting a whole ne mobo and all that stuff, just a lot more work then there needs to be. So I would suggest getting a s939 cuz 1 gig is MORE than enough for the things you will be doing. And it's easy to upgrade to more in the future anyway.

Unless you play HL2! That game is a RAM HOG!! I would go 2GB if you can afford it, otherwise, don't. If you think a different expense is better do that. Just make sure you have really good RAM!!

Really, I would do 1GB of Top of the Line Ram. Here are some links to a few of the best out there. THey are in order, BEST to GOOD.

Make sure you order two of these. Ballistix is THE BEST RAM on the market, hands down. With 2ns Latency, its timings can be 2/2/2/6 easily, without much heat.

Buy 2 again, this is just as good as Ballistix, easily. The next choices are not quite as good.

Buy 2. Actaully, all these are great RAM.

Buy 2. Corsair is known for quality. THis is the low latency series. Good RAM, just doesn't compare to the others above.

Buy 2. This is pretty good RAM, and MUSHKIN is recieving good reviews.
