first build help

it wont be cheaper man. it will be double the cost. try the 6800le agp card. but yeah, get the 939 pin, that is what i am getting. you can upgrade in the future. 754 is old, they are not making it any more.

Yea i was really debating weather or not to got the 939 socket. what would be the price difference to a 939 3000+ or 3200+ amd and mobo be compared to my choice now? should i pay the price now to get the 939 or wait till i want to upgrade the whole computer later down the rode?

At least you can upgrade to a FX-55 when you have the money. Cuz its socket 939 also.

so should i get a 939 socket in the 3000+ or 3200+ now? also how much cheaper do u think parts will be in the next month? and about the video card and mobo i think i may be one with the pci-e. the agp card is out of my budget.

the agp version of the 6800Gt is much cheaper then PCIe. i would honestly do this (follow these instructions to the letter:)

MOBO:

Ok , build this all together, and you will have a bad ass PC under whatever tower you choose. Just make sure you have at least a 475watt PS, because the 6800GT is a power hog, and the 3500+ isnt exactly power saving either....

Geil is ok. I think Corsair is better. You cant beat the prices of the Value Select ram...

Just go with a regular or GT 6800 (enthusiast/ gamer). You can also go with the 6600 GT (mid-range). Or if you're really short on moolah, you can get the 6200 with TurboCache (high-end of the low-end, LOL)also.

EDIT>>> I dont think the 6200 is out for AGP, just PCI-E, so forget that.

im lost on the video card stuff. it seems that every 6600gt on new egg is PCI-E. noob question but, arnt all the PCI-E mobo sold out? im looking for a good card under $200.

Are you using AGP? Cuz im sure that newegg has some 6600 GT's that are in AGP format. In fact AGP should be cheaper, since its an older technology.
