I was on Steam (counter-strike server thing), and as soon as I picked the map I was going to play on...I got the blue screen of death. Something about blah blah blah kernal error. Now I can't even get the system to boot in safe mode. What should I do? Reinstall windows, or could my copy of windows be doing this? What causes this problem?

if its an error in the kernel then id suggest reinstalling windows, but ive never experienced this problem before, a restore is the quick way, but im sure there are other ways to do it.

Sounds like a bad harddrive.

The sector that holds some files that Windows requires is bad.

It's hard to get specific, but that would be my guess based on the information you provided to us.

I wouldnt think it to be the hard drive since my computer is not even 2 weeks old. Do you think that if I remove the battery from the mother board, allowed it to reset, it would help any?
