Yes, but intels are still good for notebooks (that might change in 2005 though, when Dell will allow customers to make AMD ones (considering dell is the biggest laptop seller, it matters))

Yeah cuz Dell always used intel's mobile line for the laptops. Thats awesome! A Dell laptop with a Athlon 64-M chip in it... LOL. Although that doesnt compensate for the crappy customer service...

I am pretty sure the equations I generated are correct being that AMD uses 8 step processing, and P4's use 20.... Also, the FSB plays a big issue here. The equations I generated are using all available data on each processor when comparing an FX-55 to a P4 3.6 w/HT tech. Those numbers should be correct, but that is basing on purely clock speed. If you take into account a few other factors (such as Hyperthreading) the multiplier changes for bith AMD64 and FX chips to around 1.3 or so. These numbers are not super correct, just a guesstimate based on clocks, data throughput/output/ processor pipelines/and a broad spectrum analysis of a G5 by Apple (still unbeatable at low clock speeds even by AMD FX series) The real winner is the G5 by Motorola (apple), it whips even AMD64's. Guess who helped make it???? IBM!!! Yes, that's right, IBM!! AMD blows compared to the G5, but sadly, G5 is only for Apple/Mac architechture. If the clocks were at the same levels as the AMD64's the G5 would mutilate and AMD Fx-55. This is true, run the tests.

Intel Pentium M=Very Good
AMD64 Mobile= Also very good
INTEL P4 EE= Pretty Good
INTEL P4 HT= OK
INTEL P4=SUKS!!

Oh wait, correction, G5 Dual!! 2.5GHz!! mutilates AMD64FX-55 big time. The G5 is the fastest PC (PC not really, really Apple, but bear with me) in the world currently. Here is a link to this beast fully outfitted.

This new dual G5 is CRAZY!!! DUAL 2.5GHz!! The G5 is the fastest processor in the world, but 2?....... That is just insane, and 8GB or ram with an nVidia 6800 Ultra DDL card.......... WOW, just WOW.

ANYWAY, back to arguing Intel vs. AMD, now that I have settled the arguement that AMD and Intel are both slow processors.
