A simple XP question

I just bought windows XP and I was wondering, is there a way I can get the 'show desktop' icon on my taskbar? I have been messing around trying to find an option somewhere but no luck at all.

Try this- This works fine with ME

Go to start/find and search for "show desktop".
When the results come up, find the one that shows the desktop, and make a shortcut of it on your desktop. Then drag it to your taskbar.

it should already be there.....you do have the quick launch showing don't you? mine was just there
