I dont no y but my computer is really slooooooow lately. W/ no programs running, took off all the stuff to startup (everthing! except recgaurd) and its still goin sluggish. I go to internet explorer, and it takes ages to com up. same thing to all my folders and icons. someone please help me!!!

Did you somehow switch to compatible mode in BIOS?

You may have a virus, your Hardrive may be on POI settings, your GPU may be broken, but most likely a virus somehow masking itself in the background area.

Format and start over or try an online virus scan

yeah, I agree. Try getting into Internet Explorer, and going here to DL stinger, and scan using it, then your own antivirus.

it is what happends to all PC, what i do is Scan Disk, Defrag, Virus Scan and Spy-ware scan weekly and that will keep your pc in top running order. make sure you remove programs that you don't use and try and run Windows Disk Clean-Up if you are running out of space.

have you ever defraged your computer? that will help

Don't reformat, just use antispyware programs. Gary Gaefen is just saying that so you lose ALL the documents on your pc. There are other ways of fixing things!
