Detecting Sound cards

Hi folks,

Can any one please help me to find the sound card that is assembled in a system.
I have no idea of the hardware profiles of a system i have obtained. I would like to play music but not with speaker but headphones.

So i need to know if a aound card is even there inside or not, coz i cant play the music.

look on the back of your computer for audio i/o jacks. at least probally green and blue 1/4" jacks. if u don't got any, u have no sound card.

But i do have those jacks and one for the headphone in fornt of my system. But i wonder if i could detect thru the device manager. or similar windows that show the hardware config.

if u got a sound card installed, u will be able to see it in device manager. u should be able to see the hardware and driver. it should say if this device is working properly... plug your headphones into the green jack on the back of your computer, see if you hear any sound??
