Free computers

Hi,

i have recently picked up two free computers from my school. They are very old and most of the plugs in the back are things like serial mouses etc. I have no idea what or how good it is but i know that it is only 100mhz and i have now upgraded it to 32mb memory, i was wondering how i will know whether my motherboard can take a new processor and how fast i can upgrade it to??

don't bother upgrading that: way too old, and you won't be able to do anything with it. trust me, you won't get any big use out of them, except maybe as servers

lol i have to agree with you there.... do you reckon it is worth taking it apart and selling bits and bobs from it??

you can take the pieces apart and smash them (i did that on a 286)

thats always fun...i took the case and painted it..Looks sweet and is completly useless

Just make them into a linux box.... or thin clients.. they tend to work pretty ok. i use them in the school that i work in. They are very cost effctive.... need more information look at the write up.. http://www.hancock.k12.mi.us/~scott

Take them apart and sell the parts on e-bay they should fetch a fare price considering who old they are
