Hey everyone,

my friend recently pusrchased a packard bell 1402 model computer, the specs are:

2.80ghz
80gb HDD
256 RAM
DVD-RW

heres the problem, when i was connecting it all together, i looked in the HDD properties and the capacity was at 69.8gb.

I found this very odd, as its meant to be a 80gb hard drive. so we went to the shop where it was bought, told them and they turned around and said that due to parititions and such before xp was installed its hidden the other 10gb, is this possible?

what do u think?

Yeah, you got a partition, use it for wise purposes (linux anyone? )

Or you can delete it

That's not wise purpose :D

If you go into Administrative Tools, Computer Management, and Disk Management it will show you your Hard Drive; from there you can format. You won't be able to stick the partitions together but if you want, then you can reinstall and do it that way.
