audio distortion..

when i play music from cds, i get distortion sometimes. its not a speaker problem and I tryed 2 different sound cards. still there and i don't have my speakers cranked up .. i don't have an audio cable connecting my cd to my sound carb so i'm using CDDA with windows XP service pk 2. any thoughts to what is causing this??

sorry ... i'm using CDDA extraction with windows XP, also this distortion happens when using windows media player...

Try using WinAmp and if that doesn't work try saving the songs on your hard drive and play them from there Windows does that I don't know why it's happened to me in the past

Have you checked the sound settings in the task bar?

Right click the icon that sits down in the taskbar, it will look like a sm. speaker./ adjust audio properties

check in there to make shure your settings are correct.....

i found the problem.. the eq in media player was causing distortion. if i turned it off or put the settings lower, it was gone..
