Laptop wont recharge battery Need Help

I have a Dell Latitude laptop computer. The battery works fine and so does the adapter. The plug that the adapter plugs into seems to have a short or is just not working . This does not allow me to recharge my battery so my computer stays dead.

Recently had been going from battery icon to charging and then to battery use when the laptop was moved. Now can not get a charge at all and computer is dead because of this. Any Help on what I need to do or what is wrong?

Ring dell i think they got good customer support and would probably just replace it for u??? If its still under warranty it shud b no prob!!

I have the same problem

I have a sony Vaio and its the same almost it is ok off mains but batt does not hold charge long i suspect it is a fuse that has gone withing the charging circuit.

And laptops are damn fiddley to access..

Yeah unfortunetly they were built for mobility not for fiddiling around with

Have you tryied looking in the Power option settings in the control panel ?

in the control panel go to/ performance & maint/Power options/ UPS/ select button for options.
