Monitor Only turns on every other time on boot up!!!!

I am wondering if this problem is def the video card or can it be the motherboard as well. I came home from work today and the computer has been on all night and i go and move the mouse and the monitor turns on but with no signal and then goes blank. Also on restart it sometimes happens where there is no signal either. I have checked the video card and sat it back in the AGP slot many times to make sure it is secure. Can anyone help or have any ideas on what this could be???

I am running the follow:

P4 2.4C
Asus P4P 800SE Motherboard
1 GIG Kingston RAM (Dual Channel) 512 x 2
Gigabyte 9600XT video card

maybe the analog or digital cable (which ever u are using) isn't connecting proparly with your Graphics Card
