Well the 939 is faster. The big dif is upgradability. You will be able to use future processors once it gets old and upgrade, The 754 wont be able to do that.

You can check out the performance dif. Its faster but not by a ton.

Problem is: only 512 cache, and i want a 1024. Plus, 2.0 operating frequency. Is 939 really worth that?

youre better off getting the 3400+ if you have no plans of upgrading.

Yep the one with 1mb L2 cache. It should be faster.

okay...now that nforce3 is out, will mobos be making any big leeps up until xmas? and same for Ram. Basically, the stuff on newegg right now, except maybe for a bit cheaper because time goes by, will be a good solution for me?

Nothing new for Socket 754. Only real leaps from now until just a little bit after New Years will be the X850 and you said you arent interested in a new video card.

So you shouldnt be worried about new stuff. Cuz there wont be anything earthshattering in that time frame.

Over the next year, Computers will change drastically from what they are now, though.
