changing IP address

lets say i get a new IP address, does my ISP know who the old one belonged to or is that info lost?
(Do they just know who the current IP address belongs to?)

well, didn't you contact your ISP to change your IP? That's how you would usually change an IP...and if you did that, then yes, they obviously know about it.

Yes, your ISP will have logs of who the address was previously assigned too.
