AMD XP 2500 overheating

you could try to change the thermal paste if you havent done so in a while. A good one is Artic Silver 5

i tend not too remove the heatsink / fan off the processors unless i have too. i cracked a wafer once, i guess cuz of just bad luck.. now only when its 100% needed.. i guess i could try putting new paste on it. i have some that is like 95% silver laying around somewhere. i might give that a shot, but not right off the bat.

i got a akasa carnival. £3 from ebay lol.

Came brand new boxed.....heatsink/fan + control back plate + silver thermal paste (£10 akasa stuff) + molex too

AMAZING :p

yeah, its not fan or heatsink, i have a decent one from thermaltake. the fan speed is a constant 3000 rpm's on a 70 mm fan. soo it has mass air output. copper core connected to aluminum heat sink fins.. it just one of the mystery's! im convinced i over stressed the processor. also another thing, its been on 24/7 for the last 2 years;. =)
