Need for speed HP2

I just installed Need for Speed Hot pursuit 2, and it installed and booted up fine

However when I open the game, the resolution is not right, On the left hand of the screen it is just plain black, in the middle there is the game, and at the right hand side there is the game, but half of the display is cut of at one side...The right side.

I went to options and tryed changing the resolution, but after I changed it, I could not find the "apply new settings" buton, I couldnt ecven get out of that display, I had to press ctrl and tab to exit it....I think some of the buttons are on the part of the display that has been cut of

Botom line is, Is there a way to change the resolution in the game, in the NFS HP2 directory, I looked around a bit, and couldnt find anything

That didn't fix my problem, I searched for some more things at the top also, like "resolution" and "screen" or "display" but there were no answers that answered my question....
