i am ripping a music cd to
128kbps mp3 how much will the quality of music
gets affected.
does quality depends on the software i use
which one is better

winamp 5
win media player 9
cool edit pro

128 kbps is good quality, you should be able to listen to the music without noticing any change. 128 is what i use and prefer for all my mp3s

i don't think that the software you use affects the quality too much, but there may a very slight difference...

cool edit is good, i used to use that....But now i use Sound Forge ver.7 and when i convert or rip cd's or what not i use 192 kbs mp3.

i seem to get the best sound from this bit rate, but i just heard there is mp4 sound quality....

But i have to check it out 1st, before i decide it's sound quality.

i doubt.....ive never used a soundcard in my life, all inbuilt junk. I play tonns of music but never seen the point in spending so much for like..nothing

yah, true that, the best sound is going to come from the player, codecs & settings you have.
