Which computer?

Hey, first things first. Nice website. I have been spending a lot of time on on here, researching and what not.

I have an option (both for a really really cheap price) to buy a computer. Mostly gaming on them, I know they are not nearly as fast as complex and nice as your computers, so don't be harsh, lol.

The computers:

Gateway:
512Mb of memmory
1.8Ghz P4
Geforce4 Ti4800
SoundblasterLg card

Compaq:
448MB of Memmory
64 bit 2600+ amd
Geforce4 Ti4800
SoundblasterLg card

They both kinda suck, but if you were in my position, which would you choose.

yah, i would go w/gateway too, i have had good luck w/these comp.'s....although my friend has a compaq laptop and never had any probs.

So this can go both way's....

Definitely the Compaq because it will defeat that Gateway in terms of performance.

Really. The compaq will be faster? Wont they pretty much be the same, since the gateways is 1.8G and the compaw is 2.08 ghz?

MHz isn't all that matters. One is way newer. The Athlon would certainly be way faster.

hey welcome to CF! yeah, the compaq is better. although the memory isnt as much, the cpu is way better in every aspect.
