reformating NTFS Hardddrive

Ok, i have tried reformating through the CD at start up, but it will not reformat. It does not say it wont, it sits there for a sec then nothing. SO maybe I am doing something wrong. Can any one tell me how to refortmat a NTFS hard drive.

well if you are installing xp/2000 download a boot disk if u cant load of the disc or if its 98/me insert the boot disk and type in the commands FDISK and then delete all non dos partitions and then remake them and then restart the comp n load up the bootdisk and type format c: or wutever ur hdd letter is and then install 98 with E:\setup.exe
