Will it work?

that may be a bit expensive and 802.11 based wireless doesnt get as fast as wired networks.

the wireless ranges are as follows:

802.11g----------------------------------
up to 90' @ 54Mbps
to 120' @18Mbps
160' @ 11Mbps
300' @ 6Mbps
410' @ 1Mbps

802.11a------------------------------------

up to 60' @ 54Mbps
to 150' @ 18 Mbps
210' @ 6Mbps

I see youre going all hawking. never heard fo them till now. thanks for finding a new company for me to check out ;)

All right so I know a normal router and network card would not work, so would the antenna and network card work?

not just the nic and the antenna. youd have to get a wireless access point or wireless router then plug the extender into the connector where the regular antenna would go. there are lots of wireless routers with wired routing built right in!

if it isnt a problem you could just run teh cable to the barn/office and then waetherize teh network cable. id put it in conduit so teh cable dont get beaten by weather.

thats the easiest way to go if wireless is too expensive, just by repeater or a cheap switch and use that as a repeater.
