Why would you want a crappy cheap server processor?

The Itaniums are the fastest widely available processors out there! Fully 64-bitted, chunky biatches built for constant power and computing in multiple threads. Server processors are just far more powerful and chunky - which is what I look for in a processor (although AMD evendence the contrary in my Signiture). I'm not a gaming guy

So then, what's your excuse for wanting Dual Xeons and moaning about Itaniums?

how about a pentium 2 running at 3.5 ghz with a nitrogen cooling setup.

8 gigs DDR4 ram.

that be all i think.

and perhaps a case made out of snow.

And a Pentium 2 at 3.8Ghz would have what advantages over a Pentium 4 at 3.8Ghz? Other than the snow, and the short life span of, what, a few days? Maybe a Week.

Dual Itaniums! *Drewls* Quad Itanium Machine, 1.5Ghz, 6.4Gigs/sec Bandwidth, intergrated 8Meg Cache in each, with 16 Gigs of RAM and a Terabyte Hard Drive. You'd need T1 Internet of course, and a Blu-Ray DVD Writer and Dual-Layer DVD Writer. And, even if they are Apple *spits* two 30inch Apple Monitors plugged into the required Dual-Dual-DVI nVidia 6800 Ultra.
