Lol; I'm quite happy for people to know whats on my computer. At no point either did I say I had personal information on my computer either. What I was saying was that I don't agree with the idea that they are taking advantage of people who think - wow its good - think, my mate has Google Desktop Search I think I'll have it - and Google gets Advertising Information.Gary Graefen said:If you are dumb enough to store personal info on your machine then you get what ya deserve. If you don't get rid of trojans on a ritual basis anybody can get your info-not just google.
I see googles search capability as an extension of my ability to find what I need when I need it. Paranoia about what they might do with anything they might find should be minimal. Ive already got all my most fundemental info all over the internet-Gee people know my name, how scary.
I do, after all, despise Advertising Programs - which is basically what Google is, a big Advertising System. Its E-Mail does it; its Search does it. They'll know enough to send you advertising information, how is it any better than Gator, or any other Adware program out there. Other than the fact its shares its ability to search your computer with you.
