Dual channel is two sticks running together that are compatable.

As for the higher ram, you can use that in any board but will run at 3200 unless the board can overclock the ram.

I know what dual channel is, its just that I sometimes see people with dual channel supporting boards buying ram that fast so wondered if I would be able to do the same, but thanks.

any one can, you dont need dual channel. Just all the newest boards have it.

Ah I see, and if I were to buy ram that fast, would it be worth the extra money for how fast it goes, or is it really not THAT much faster?

PC3200 is perfectly fine. I cant justify the cost for higher modules.
