Ok, well Hello, new to the forums. Now to my question:

What monitor would be best for a graphic designer where color accuracy is very important. I also play games on occasion and would like a monitor that could suit that need too.

I'm looking to spend up to $800 - No more.

What would you recommend? CRT? LCD? Links / brands / suggestions very very welcome.

Thanks guys.

I don't know specifically what brand and all, but I'd recommend an LCD. They usally have great colors and are a bit sharper. Now they do smear a bit with games, but unless you are a diehard gammer, it shouldn't bother you.

Also, it's MUCH easier on your eyes.

well, it depends.
LCD's:
are expensive
better color
sharper images
not as bright as CRT
cant handle motion as good as CRT
emits less heat
and use less energy
slim and small
CRT's:
has the best black
alot brighter
uses more energy
emits more heat
bulky
better with fast motion
not as sharp and crisp in colors (exept black)

If you have a CRT already, just stick with it, it should do well. unless you really dont have the room or you have the money to spend on a expensive LCD monitor. Cuz i dont. :D
