I'm building a new system for hardcore gaming.

System

Case:
Aspire X-Alien "File Server Size"

Power supply:
Thermaltake Purepower Silent 480w

Motherboad:
Abit NF7-S NFORCE2

Processor:
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ "barton"
Overclocked upto 3.2GHZ

Memory:
2x Kingston HyperX 512MB

Videocard:
X600 XT

HDD:
2x Western Digital 120GB

DVD Drive:
Sony Dual Layer

With everything else, this system will cost me around $1100.

Is there any other recommendations?

I would certainly by one of the AMD 64's as i have heard alot of good things about them and they are not overpriced:D

the x600 really SUCKS!!!! please dont get it. Either get a 6600 or an x700.

Also make sure thats a PCIex board not an AGP one.

western digital hard drives are crash prone. very. had nothing but problems. go maxtor!

Western Digitals are ok. But maxtor is better but they do die quicker but the warrentys are great so nothing to worry about. They run very hot, so buy some front case fans, to keep them alive!
