Computer Freeze

Hi,

I have had several issues with my computer. I paid to have it was I presume was a XP repair after a system restore went bad - not icons, start menu or taskbar. Now I'm am getting crashes now and then, but was has me stumped is the screen freezing, i.e. the web page or a game will just go distorted and nothing I do will infreeze it. I have to turn off the power and restart.

I have used device manager and there are no exclamation marks beside anything and all devices say they are working properly. I am considering paying to start from fresh as I have saved all important documents and pictures. Any ideas?

update video card, get latest direct X...if you have all that updated, yea you should prolly reformat or whatever you were planning on doing. Cya

When you say update video card do you mean a new card or the drivers?
