im hopeing someone can help me out with this problem, today when i turned on my computer i noticed i had a bunch of spyware in my computer, when i scanned with ad-aware SE it found a total of 65 new files now that i have that all cleared out ive scanned about 5 times with ad-aware and 5 times with mcafee. when i open up my homepage now some popup comes up, which says 'http://xads.cliks.org', does anyone know how would i remove this?, ive tried almost everything

ok, try this ...let's say you have win xp...
go to control panel/network & internet/ intenet options/click privacy tab/ at bottom/ edit /the box on the left put in: " http://xads.cliks.org" without the quotes.
then go back & change your home page to anysite...like yahoo.com ect...
then go back & change homepage back to what you want...that should take care of it...

Are you using Internet Explorer as your browser? If so, select Tools>Internet Options>Security>Restricted Sites>Sites. Then just type or copy + paste http://xads.cliks.org and that will prevent IE from showing that site.
You should also check out IE-SPYAD. "IE-SPYAD adds a long list of sites and domains associated with known advertisers, marketers, and crapware pushers to the Restricted sites zone of Internet Explorer. Once you merge this list of sites and domains into the Registry, the web sites for these companies will not be able to use cookies, ActiveX controls, Java applets, or scripting to compromise your privacy or your PC while you surf the Net. Nor will they be able to use your browser to push unwanted pop-ups, cookies, or auto-installing programs on your PC."
Also look into SpywareGuard & SpywareBlaster (both *free*, as is IE-SPYAD).

Spybot-Search & Destroy is no doubt an excellent scanner and removal tool but it will not help spyware from being installed, which is why I recommended the following:

Can't you just change the homepage not to point to http://xads.cliks.org

Use hijackthis too, to stop bad applications loading. If your too dumb to figure out your log. post it here
