Problem With Video Card

in games it is really dark, but some tyimes only the odd time it will be nice and bright like its supposed to be in the game, but if i alt tab it goes back to dark, how i fix this?

i have an ATI Radeon EXcalibur 9600XT overclocked,
only like a week old, i tried all the settings to and i got most up to date driver

What does it do when its not Overclocked?

What Monitor do you have; CRT or TFT?

its a old monitor, not flat screen, its a 17"

the video card comes overclocked, it is manufactuerd that way

A Flat Screen will be a little darker; and it will depend on the outside light how it is viewed. If its a little old; it could actually just be the monitor thats doing it.

Yea my old montior used to do it, ditched it for a 17 INCH flat screen good as ever

Yea it has to be the monitor, you can buy some cheaper ones at newegg or tigerdirect i imagine.
