access denied

i had a windows xp O.S installed on my computer.
the operating system was password protected.
then i reinstalles windows xp.
now, when i try 2 access the administrator folder from the old installation i get the "access denied" error.
also get access denied or file in use
i know the password of this user.
how can i access the folder / files?
please help these are pics of my daughter growing up and my mustang being restored
 
i did a search and it said disable simple file sharing.
said goto
tools-folder options-view
then remove tick from simple file sharing.....but i dont have that spot to tick..
im running windows xp home
 
K here is a little tutorial i fashioned quickly so you now exactly where it is.

First you go to this place.

Next after you click that a screen like this one will pull up. you then click on the view tab.

After that you need to scroll the the very bottom and unchech the simple file sharing option.

After that you need to have that folder allow you to acess it by giving you more permissions to it.

Right click the folder you want to acess and click properties.

Then a window like this will pop up and click the securities tab. Then give yourself the abilites of contoling this folder by checking options. Like full control, read and write.

no and i really need this info....some files say access denied, sone say check if disc is full or write protected or in use. wont let me transfer files to my other compter either
