okay lets say I get the best PCI card out there (even though they all suck) and I max out my RAM and do whatever else you recomend. Do you think I will be able to play The Sims 2 smoothly?

XFX Geforce Fx5200 128MB DDR PCI

Hightech ATI Radeon 9200 128MB PCI
also when buying memory try to stick to kingston or crucial

I plan on doing any updates under 150$ to be able to play the sims 2 VERY SMOOTH and GRAHICS ON HIGH....so what are your recomenddations?

I don't know the recommendations; but with Built in Graphics with a budget of what, £80?...

I don't think you'll do it. RAM is probably least of your worries; but graphics cards and PCI graphics cards are hard to find cheap.

The two Camers pointed out will probably doo it fine - whether at High and Very Smooth I cannot say, maybe, maybe not. On a Celeron, the same.

Do some searching for the recommendations.

if you wanna do that then:
Gigabyte Ga-8i848e-l SKT 478 I848p ATX Sound LAN USB 2.0 FSB800 ATA100
thats about £50 in the uk so whats that $80?
and XFX GeForce FX5500 256MB DDR AGP 8x DVI/TV-Out thats £50 in the uk... so about $160 in total, hardware is marginally cheaper in the US i think so them two items may come to $150, they are just the ones i found on the kind of price range you mentioned.

Nah; its about $1 to 60p now isn't it? I know Dollars are close the the Euro which is 66p.

Eitherway; I don't think you'll make it under $190-200 with Delivery; and then the effort? And even then you don't know what the recommendations are; you may need more RAM?

You should look for the recommendations; cause its all a waste of time if you go on our theories which however brilliant and masterful are not always right.
