help with picking parts

ok im probably going to get a a64 3000 with a chaintech VNF3-250 nForce3 250 Chipset mobo and Kingmax 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 ram and a Maxtor 40GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive, Model 6E040L0, OEM Drive. are these items going to go together fine and are they all compatable with each other?

also, what safty precausions should i take when putting together a pc?? (sorry this is the first pc ever build for me)

yeh itll be compat. also as for safety mainly just static precautions

Yeah; some Static things would go nicely but the rest will all go great. If you've got a Pre-SP1 Windows XP Install you should download SP1 and SP2 from Microsoft Downloads before you build it - I think the time it will take for your computer to be destroyed on a Pre-SP1 PC on the Internet is about 20 minutes; which is less than it will take to download SP1.

Apparently it only takes 20 minutes now on a Pre-SP1 Windows Installation for the Internet to make it useless.
