WHEN YOU GET A DVD BURNER, you are supposed to be abole to do HD BURNING where you take a CD-R disk, and stick it in your DVD BURNER, thats right the dvd burner, and the dvd burner is supposed to hd burn twice the data (1.4gb) onto a 700 mb cd-r disk.
The dvd burner uses a cdr disk to burn this, NOT A DVD i think this is where you are confused bluto.
