my monitoris onlyallowing thesetting tobe 2 or16can someone tellme what could be wrong and how to fixthis problem.

1 st ? is this your first PC ?
If so than you've got a lot to learn,read your manuals etc.
In the meanwhile use your video card cd and install the enhanced svga drivers to make it give you 16 million colors.It's not automatic.Did your video card manual not tell you how ?

What video card do you have? You need to download the drivers from the manufacturers website..
