hi all,can any one please help me with a problem I have?
When I boot up ultra 66 bias appears on the screen and wont boot up it just keeps trying to start but wont.any help or advice greatly appreciated thanks Bill

you mean you bios? Im getting confused here of a cable and bios :p

that was quick thanks, Im shure it read "ULTRA 66 bias" the CDROM draw wont open, screen went blank. Many thanks Bill

sounds like your hardware doesnt support ata 66
go into the bios and if you have a selectable setting for your cd roms and or harddrive drop it down to either ata 33 or choose auto.
You also might have a dos loader in your autoexec.bat or config.sys which is calling a flawed or non existant program-
If you have a boot floppy disk boot to dos and try del autoexec.bat <enter>
This will delete the file-windows will boot without it.
Or rename autoexec.bat autoexec1.bat <enter>
This will save the file but it won't load on boot-Wrong file name
Then edit out the offending commands with notepad and resave.

If you r going to PC world make sure u know wat u r doing cos the sales ppl can talk some bullcrap i went once When i was a newbie to computers i said My computer kept crashing and the guy said i needed a new motherboard and a processor even as a newbie and knew he was trying to rip me off
