Real/quicktime player problems

Recently I have had problems wit hthese two programs, they dont seem to play audio, but when they do, it is echoes and you can barely make the sound out, when i try to play an audio file it says that another application is using it even when it is the only thing open, does any one know the problem? I often have to use windows media player but this sometimes has troubles playing the files that are made for RP and QTP, thanks

Maybe uninstall it then get the new one.

i have tried that with both, and also run many spybot and virus scans, i cant find out whats wrong with it.

have you tried going 2 devise manager and check if there is a conflict somewhere ?

what operating system are ya running?

XP Home edition - and yeah ive checked,

maybe a hardware problem.

do you have a sound card or integrated.
maybe get a $17 sound card.

I bet it will work.

i have a sound card
all other sound works as in music in games etc, its just files thast need quicktime or real player
