Hi all
I would like to know if chanign the file system from FAT32 to NTFS will result in the lost of data in that harddrive.
I will be using the command
Command prompt "convert c: /fs:ntfs" (no quotes)

thanks all

The answer is yes.
The converting of fat32 to ntfs are two different formats.
I personally like ntfs, I've heard it's better than fat32.

It depends,i hear/read FAT32 is best for gamers,
NTFS for business like XP Pro.has
But it will require a compete fdisk/format to NTFS if you have what will Format NTFS.Like Win 2k or XP Pro.
Yes it will be a total loss.

NTFS will give you unlimited file size as fat32 max size is 4 gig and fat is 2 gig.....if you are making dvds or backing up one you need to have a NTFS to accomidate the 4.7+ file size

you can keep your files intact as long as you dont format with a NFTS partition, using the convert command is the way to go
